ITV1 HD broadcasting the opening England v USA World Cup inadvertently cut to an advert for car marker Hyundai just before Steven Gerrard scored the opening goal for England in the fourth minute. ITV’s incompetence fail us. The standard definition version of ITV1 did not cut to adverts:
Ofcom has published a second consultation on a BBC proposal to control how its and other broadcasters’ high definition content is made available on Freeview.
HD programmes have already begun to be broadcast on Freeview in parts of the country and HD Freeview boxes will be available in the shops shortly.

Freeview HD completed a successful technical launch today 2nd December 2009 from the Crystal Palace transmitter covering most of London and the Winter Hill transmitter covering the Manchester/Granada television areas.
